Hadj Operation is indeed the most important annual operation of Iran Air, from any angle that we look at it, religious, national, financial or professional. Every year tens of thousands of pilgrims from Iran go to Mecca to perform their divine duty. They all have to leave Iran and return home within a short period of time. In the year 2001, we carried around 60 thousands pilgrims, to and from Jeddah, within 40 days. 352 flights were operated from and to 17 different cities in Iran. This was a massive operation, which was performed simultaneously with other daily operations of Iran Air. This achievement was the result of precise planning, provisioning, and conduct. Iran Air's work force does not look at this operation only from the professional point of view, but as a divine religious and national duty.
