Sunday 7/29/2012 Homa attends the 68th IATA International Assembly
The 68th IATA International Assembly took place for 2 days in China-Beijing in June held by Air China.
Managing directors of over 240 IATA airline members as well as aircraft manufacturing company agents such as BOEING and AIRBUS participate in this annual assembly held in one of the IATA members' countries.
Iran Air MD, Mr. Parvaresh, took part in this assembly, Iran  Air Public Relations department announced.
During the assembly, aviation industry was addressed to be challenging in 2012, and high fuel price was referred to as the major cause of recession in aviation industry profitability. The supportive role of governments as powerful partners in the success of aviation industry was highly accentuated.
Experts in this field believe that governments should free aviation industry from restraints; this way the industry could stimulate economic growth and job creation.
The assembly also insisted on the role of governments in the stability and safety of aviation industry by providing proper infrastructure, setting rules, and tax allocation. Air Transportation, with 1 accident per 2.7 million flights, was statistically introduced as the safest way to travel in 2012. The performance of 369 airlines which have successfully passed IATA Operational Safety Audit(IOSA) was declared to be more satisfactory compared to non-IOSA operators.
Meanwhile, airport safety provision and cargo handling were discussed and also models of IATA Operational Systems in aviation industry were introduced.
Statistics declare the unquestionable role of air transportation industry in the economy of the countries. It also supports 56.6 million jobs around the world and 2.2 trillion dollars in global economic activity. If Air Transportation Industry were considered as a country, it would obtain the 19th place  in the world from the view point of GNP.
In 2012, this industry had transferred goods worth 5.3 trillion dollars equal to the value of 35 percent of the whole goods transferred in the world.
Utilization of biofuels by airplanes to reduce emissions was another controversial issue in IATA annual assembly(AGM).
In the meantime, Mr. Parvaresh, Iran Air MD, held some meetings with Mr. Safari, Iran  Ambassador to China, and Mr. Tony Tyler, IATA Director General & CEO.
In the meeting held with the IATA Director General, the latest state of IATA and its actions to eradicate Homa suspension in ICH(IATA Clearing House) , IATA BSP(Billing & Settlement Plan), and IATA CASS(Cargo Agency Settlement Systems) were addressed and the Director General  was also requested to take measures to release Homa revenues in the above mentioned IATA services  before the suspension of 5th October, 2011. He promised to follow up the case through IATA legal department.
In Mr. Parvaresh's  meeting with Iran ambassador to China, Iran Air's  latest situation was discussed and some strategies to eradicate Homa problems were drawn up.
